How does it work?
Using the VGA starts from the ground up. These main steps are followed:
  1. Set up your Plots - Draw out the layouts of your garden(s), allotment(s) or field(s). Within each plot you then draw specific growing Beds. All this happens in the Plot Manager.
  2. Optionally create a plan list of all the crops you want to grow - Within the Crop Planner, select the crops you want to grow and add them to the plan for the season.
  3. Sow/Plant the crops you want to grow - Within the Crop Planner, select the crops you want to grow and add them to your Plot(s)/Bed(s).
  4. Record any soil treatments - If you add anything to the soil, record it in the Plot Manager.
  5. Record any Crop events - Within the Crop Planner, record any of the following activities: Germination, Thinning, Transplanting, Feeding, Harvesting, Clearing.
  6. Generate Reports - Generate reports of all the activities in the past season, the report parameters can be set by the user.
