Advanced Features
An important feature of the VGA is the ability to edit the veg data to suit your particular climate/location. You can also add new vegetables as you learn of them.

Right click the mouse over the main veg list in the Crop planning screen. From the popup menu select Edit Veg Details:

The Cultivation Details button leads on to another screen that allows you to change crop spacing, sowing/harvest times, PH, soil types, etc.

When updating follow this sequence:

    1. Changing existing data:
      • 1. Select from list
      • 2. Change the data
      • 3. Press the add/update button
      • Repeat 1-3 until finished
    2. Entering new veg data:
      • 1. Press the Create New Vegtable button
      • 2. Change the data
      • 3. Press the add/update button
      • 5. Quit the editor.

Resetting the Data

The VGA maintains a small number of key files. If you want to reset the data (perhaps after a few practice sessions) you can delete SOME of the files and start again.
  1. Locate the folder where the VGA is installed.
  2. Within this folder is another called VGAData
  3. Inside VGAData will be the following files:
    • BedHistory.dat - holding the data on the beds within your plots
    • CropHistory.dat - holding the data on all crops sown/planted past and present
    • CropStates.dat - holding the data on the current crops growing
    • main.lnd - plot and bed data
The first 3 file are interrelated, that is, you cannot delete just 1 and carry on. You must delete all 3 and then re-run the program to start again. In any case it is well to make backup copies of all the above file (and veg.dat) every now and again just be safe.
